Carved out of a single large agarwood trunk, the upright carving depicts the seated Amitabha buddha upon double lotus throne below pine trees growing out of the rocks, accompanied by the standing Avalokiteshvara buddha to his lower left, and the standing Mahasthamaprapta buddha to his lower right, all supported on carved celestial clouds.

在世界上很多地方，沉香木是珍貴的香料，被用作燃燒熏香、提取香料、加入酒中，或直接雕刻成裝飾品，大型的沉香極其少見。本件器物用大型沉香雕刻出西方三聖（西方三聖又稱彌陀三尊，指的是西方極樂世界三尊主要的佛菩薩，即教主阿彌陀佛和他的左脅侍觀世音菩薩、右脅侍大勢至菩薩。造像上，三者皆在蓮座上，蓮象徵出淤泥而不染，於一真法界而能應化在十法界；阿彌陀佛居中，觀音菩薩脅侍在左，大勢至菩薩脅侍在右。三者塑像或畫像為修行淨土宗者禮敬的對象。 ）工藝精美，實屬難得。
