The basin is modelled with five rounded lobes, the central scene filling the well depicts phoenix and dragon chasing flaming pearl, the interior side and the rim further decorated with similar scene of phoenix and dragon, the reverse painted around the sides with auspicious buddhist emblems, the base with a wanli six character reign mark.
