Exquisitely carved, each translucent white stone carved with one of the four Gentlemen plants in a vase, including bamboo, plums, chrysanthemum, and orchids, along with a scholar's object to one side, all above a geometric band suspending a roundel enclosing one character corresponding to the plant, the side decorated in openwork with scrolled ruyi heads pattern, with coral and seed pearls and accompanied with a fitted box. Mid-Qing Dynasty period.
