The body decorated with continuous scene depicting the eight Daoist immortals celebrating the longevity. Shou-lao is sitting on top of the stone pavilion, attended by the dancing crane. The painting is fluid and fine. With the typical glaze flow of the early Ming blue-and-white, it enhances the artistic quality of the piece. The base is unglazed, showing the classic orange discolorations and iron burnt marks. This impressive jar is huge in size and in excellent condition. Early Ming Dynasty period.

此罐直口, 短頸, 豐肩, 圓腹, 腹下漸收, 近足處微外撇, 平砂底微凹, 造 型厚重古拙, 沈穩敦厚, 胎體厚重, 釉質肥厚, 釉面泛鴨蛋青. 通體以青花 裝飭. 頸部繪一周纆枝花卉紋, 肩部繪如意雲頭開光, 内繪八寶, 腹部通景以群仙慶壽為题材. 形似蓮瓣的岩石上, 頭顱碩大的老壽星手拿如意, 面帶微笑坐在上面. 四周祥雲繚繞, 霧氣茫茫, 花奔與仙鶴烘托著諸位神仙 (八仙) 來向老壽星祝壽. 意到筆隨, 生動的構圖, 將群仙清高超瓷不 同凡俗的神韵, 描繪得活靈活現, 淋漓盡緻. 青花用進口蘇來麻泥料 (蘇花勃青料, 蘇麻離青), 呈蘇麗的靛青色, 其次 有濃淡色階, 勾勒線條較深, 填色青料較淺. 青料積聚處有藍黑色褐色斑點, 釉面下凹並啞光. 加上青花鈷料燒制後在釉下產生”暈散”現象, 使畫面呈現一種夢幻般的藝術寫意效果。
