Of irregular naturalistic form, the brushpot is carved deeply with a continuous landscape scenery, depicting a riverside village with figures in various boats engaging in fishing and leisurely activities, the riverbank with various trees,reeds, and craggy rocks. The wood is of brownish dark tone. Qing Dynasty period.

沉香木自古以來就為非常名貴之木料。明、清兩代，宮廷皇室皆崇尚用沉香木制成各類文房器物，工藝精細，與犀角制作相同。由於沉香木金貴且多朽木細干，用之雕刻，少有大材。此筆筒為整塊沉香木做成，筆筒身上浮雕山水人物紋，頗見功力。用手搓後，聞之香氣宜人，是非常難得的清代文房佳品。
