Of mountainous form, the Jun ceramic boulder intricately depicts a tall, steep, and colorful mountain, with blueish white, walnut brown, and blue colors glazed over in intricate fashion. Qing Dynasty period.
The present piece is a rare example of ceramic ‘shanzi’ boulder. One of the similar examples is attributed by Tang Ying, the famous supervisor of porcelain production during Yongzheng-Qianlong era and now included in the collection of Beijing Palace Museum.
