The vase is of flattened baluster form with elegantly gnarled peach branches rising from the base. Intricately carved and pierced in open work relief, its blossoming branches extending upwards around the body and neck and up to the cover from the sides. Sitting on the branches are finely carved monkey figures holding peach twigs.The vase is finished with a finial decorated by high-relief peach branches and a well carved monkey figure attempting to capture a peach. The stone is of overall white tone with russet veins and inclusions. Republic Period.
