This pair comprises of two elaborately cast gilt-metal of phoenix models in mirror images. Each is delicately decorated with coral and turquoise inset and intricately dotted scroll patterns to represent feathers on the body. Each phoenix is supported by two four-digit feet incised with scroll motifs, and each tail continues down and splits into three curled branches. Each phoenix carries an impressive vessel zun embellished with agate rings, coral, and turquoise cbeads. The wood stand is finely carved and pierced with flower openwork. 19th century.
