“中國白”出自法國人對明代德化白瓷的讚譽。在世界陶瓷史上，“中國白”就成了德化白瓷的代名詞。德化窯是中國古代南方著名瓷窯，因窯址位於德化縣而得名。德化白瓷的胎骨細柔堅致，俗稱“糯米胎”，帶有晶瑩的光澤，釉水潔淨勻厚與胎骨結合緊密渾然一體，呈色溫潤如玉，剔透光滑，器體在光線照耀下，可映見指影，叩之聲音清悅悠揚，猶如敲擊金屬，鏗然作響，其美妙的胎釉質感直逼玉器之“五德”。此件觀音通體施白釉，觀音低首垂目，面形長圓，飽滿豐潤，神情慈祥，似在俯瞰塵世眾生。身披長巾，胸前瓔珞珠佩亦作如意形。左手持書卷，右手扶膝，安坐於座上。其衣紋自然，透過垂拂流轉的衣褶，隱露出觀音的肢體形態。背部“宣德”方章款。
