The Tibetan buffalo-headed deity standing on the back of a recumbent bull above a prostrate figure on a lotus base framed by an arch of fire, wearing a necklace of heads with beaded heads around the body, the head detailed with bushy eyebrows, wrinkled nose and flaring nostrils. The back of the base horizontally inscribed with Tibetan buddhist inscriptions. Mid-Qing Dynasty period, 18th century.


Provenance: Property from a private collection, Chicago, Illinois, acquired from Europe before 1980s.
