扳指古稱韘，原為遊牧狩獵引弓勾弦的實用器，後逐漸變為佩飾。入清以後，扳指更是風行於宮廷貴族之間，顯貴皆日日佩戴以象征身份地位。其原料亦隨之變得豐富多樣。扳指分別以玉，料器，蜜蠟制成，形制考究。
