宗喀巴不僅是西藏格魯派（黃教）的創立者，也是藏傳佛教界最為重要的宗教改革家，精神領袖之壹，被藏族人民譽為“第二佛”，即釋迦牟尼之後的另壹位世間佛尊。件宗喀巴像頭戴桃形尖頂黃帽，兩側護耳垂於雙肩。內穿無袖背心，外穿袒右臂袈裟。面形方圓豐滿，雙目微閉，面相沈靜。雙手結說法印，並在手心握住兩枝蓮花花莖，花莖沿手臂升至雙肩，左肩放置般若經書壹部，右肩放置文殊寶劍，此為宗喀巴的重要標識，表明其為文殊菩薩的化身。結全跏趺坐於華麗的高蓮座上，仰覆式花瓣對稱分布，瓣尖上翹，座上下沿有連珠紋。
