The arhat finely cast with a contemplative face and a raised urna on the forehead flanked by long pendulous ears, standing with both hands held together in prayer on a double-lotus pedestal, wearing a long flowing robe cast with floral hems.

迦葉，全稱“摩訶迦葉”，意為飲光，古印度摩揭陀國王舍城人，屬婆羅門種姓，十大弟子之一。傳說他少欲知足，年輕時常修頭陀行，故稱作“頭陀第一”，意即抖擻，或去掉身上的塵垢煩惱之意。修頭陀行的規定很苛刻，大概有十二種。由此看來，迦葉是個苦行僧，他是釋迦牟尼涅槃後第一次五百羅漢大會的召集人，也是首席大羅漢。此尊菩薩通體泥金，頭和上身微微向右傾斜，腳踏蓮花，雙手合十，似乎是在仰望佛祖，聆聽佛祖的教誨。
