The tribolate handle superbly carved with three wrathful faces, the center of the handle elaborately carved with designs of endless knots and lotus lappets accentuated with studs, the pyramidal blade rendered issuing from the mouth of three makara, each portrayed with serpents slithering in and out of its mouth. The stone is of smooth translucent white tone.

金剛杵是宇宙佛法對抗敵魔的終極武器，擁有毀滅與創造力量，是用來牽制與摧毀內心之魔障，即覺悟路上的障礙物。本件器物用上等和田白玉制成，玉質潔白細膩，溫潤光瑩。頂端為三個護法神大黑天頭部，壹面三目，張口呲牙，形象兇忿，象征著永久的持護力量和無邊的法能，鋒利的牙齒能噬嚼壹切世間俗、欲之念。中間部分為金剛杵手柄，下部有三龍首，口吐毒蛇。“三棱杵”象征著三解脫門，即所謂的通往解脫之道的三種法門：空門——觀我所見，我見皆空，壹切諸行不真實、不常、恒空；無相門——觀因空故，不起著於相；無願門——無作或無欲。此三重法門可令有慧根者破除狹隘的自利，獲得自在，直達涅盤。
