Rising to a rounded shoulder, the body painted in underglaze red and blue and white to depict flying phoenix and leafy peony around the exterior, the shoulder flanked by a pair of raised tiger head handles, the base left unglazed but painted with a 'fu' character, meaning auspicious.
梅瓶一詞,乃后冠之名,此形自唐已有,趙宋初興,元後延盛。其圓肩小口,上寬下斂,形姿優雅雋永,風靡千年不衰。梅瓶初為酒罈以用,至元明之時,梅瓶或仍為盛酒之皿,但又因梅瓶細口圓肩,尤為雅緻,漸為插花陳設之用。此器小唇口,短頸,豐肩,斂腹,形制規整,器型秀巧,雙獅耳。器身青花釉裡紅繪鳳鳥紋,鳳鳥展翅飛翔,鳳尾舞動,畫面動感十足。
