Qing Dynasty period.(17th C.-19th C.) Rising from a circular foot ring and potted with shallow sides, the dish is painted to the interior center in cobalt blue to depict a powerful qilin with splitting tails and agape mouth, with foliate scroll issuing from mouth, all enclosed by double circle borders. The exterior is further decorated with a continuous scene of four similar qilin above the foot. The base bears a six character 'XUANDE' mark within double circle borders.
