The rectangular panel is finely carved in high relief to depict the Kui star, a Taoist immortal, standing single foot upon the dragon fish head above turbulent waves, wearing loose robe revealing belly and chest, face looking downward; the upper right carved with big dipper symbolizing the immortal, all framed with carved Huanghuali. Qing Dynasty period.

此黃花梨祁陽石座屏為傳統仕宦之家中堂供桌上的重要陳設品。該座屏為長方形，規格適中，由上等祁陽石製成，石質精良，溫潤細膩，肌理瑩透，色澤深沉。匠師審時度勢，師法造化，採用俏色高浮雕技法，雕魁星點鬥紋樣。魁星又稱「奎星」，是二十八宿之一，是北斗的第一星，民間供奉魁星是為了保佑科場及第，名列前茅，有科舉奪魁之意。魁星左手持墨，右手應持筆，圓睜雙目仰望上空，左足上揚作踢鬥，右足踏在鰲頭台座上。整體造型生動傳神，衣飾刻劃飄逸流暢，意境新奇，極具收藏價值。
