Of archaistic hu form, the vase is finely embellished with various gems including white jade, agate, green jade, turquoise, lapis lazuli to depict the eight auspicious emblems, ruyi heads, and buddhist swastika motif, all reserve on the gilt-bronze ground with dense ruyi-head repousse pattern, the neck flanked by two s-shaped handles, the base with six character Qianlong mark. Qing Dynasty Qianlong period.

本件拍品形製為仿古方壺，方口束頸，圓鼓腹，下腹微垂，高圈足外撇，頸側飾一對S形耳。以銅胎為地，瓶身鎏金如意雲紋，並以各色玉石寶石鑲嵌八吉祥紋，並嵌白玉製如意和壽字紋，寓意吉慶有餘。整器紋飾富麗，工藝精湛，製作精細，突顯雍容華貴。據文獻記載，百寶嵌工藝是明末清初揚州藝人周柱所創。吳騫《尖陽業筆》中言：明世宗時，有周柱善鑲嵌奩匣之類，精妙絶倫，時稱周嵌。……其法以金、陰、寶石、真珠、珊瑚、碧玉、翡翠、水晶、瑪瑙、車渠、青金、綠松、螺鈿、象牙、蜜蠟、沉香為之，雕成山水、人物、數目、樓台、花卉、翎毛、嵌於檀、梨、漆器之上……真古來未有之奇玩也。此款銅鎏金鑲百寶雙耳壺瓶，使用寶石之多，造型之華美，令人讚嘆，鏨刻挺拔，包漿自然，實乃可遇不可求的精品。
