The teapot carved to the body in high relief to depict magpie in flight above plum blossom issuing from rockworks, the top cover carved with a magpie perching, Qing Dynasty period.

茶壺以根枝作為壺柄，另琢梅花開於其側，數隻喜鵲盤旋其間，有宋代工筆花鳥之畫感。古人以喜鵲作為喜慶的象徵。《禽經》有言：’靈鵲兆喜’ 。唐代《開元天寶遺事》亦記載：”時人之家，聞鵲聲皆以為喜兆，故為喜鵲報喜。” 可見早在唐宋時期既有此寓意，當時所制之銅鏡、織錦、書畫等，已有很多喜鵲的題材。而古人常以梅花諧音‘眉 ‘字，畫喜鵲站於梅花枝梢，即組成了’喜上眉梢’的吉祥圖案，廣為流傳。
