Horizontally carved, the aloeswood Chengxiang boulder is elaborately carved to depict a mountainous landscape detailed with pavilions, bridges, and human figures engaging in various activities, all below rocky overhanging cliffs issuing trees, as well as fishermen and fishing boats on the river. Qing Dynasty Qianlong period.

沉香自古名貴，用做工藝品原料更屬稀珍。明清兩代宮廷皇室皆崇尚沉香製成各類文房佳器。但由於沉香材料珍貴，且多朽木細幹，用之雕刻，少有大材。此沉香擺件雕亭台樓閣，描繪文人雅士棲會其間，各行其樂，殊有自然生趣，真可謂妙然天開。此擺件用料巨大，實屬少見。經過常年盤玩，包漿厚實。置於案頭，賞心悅目，深合文人閒雅溫厚之品性。來源：北加州Palo Alto 華人家族舊藏
