Of naturalistic irregular upright form, the tianhuang stone carved through the dark grey skin to depict three scholars appreciating a painting scroll under bamboos, the reverse depicting a hut under gnarled pine trees, all set in a mountain landscape, with incised inscription signed Shi Qing. 20th century.

本件器物石質溫潤細膩如金桂，雕刻隨形而走似丹青。石卿大師此作極其用心，薄雕技法不僅刀鋒盡泯，靈動立體之處往往筆墨不及。此件作品雕石壁、竹林、卷雲，又有兩位文人墨客在此觀書。利用俏色把整幅場景刻畫的惟妙惟俏。郭懋介，字石卿，1924年出生於福建省福州市，2013年5月逝世。師從林友竹，擅刻人物圓雕及浮雕、薄意，兼工篆刻、書畫，以雕刻薄意而著稱，作品題材廣泛，技法上得師法而有新意，文學藝術底蘊深厚，藝術境界高遠，融詩書畫篆於一爐。多次應邀赴海外展覽，作品深得海內外收藏家青瞇。
