Of cylindrical form, the Duan stone brushpot is finely incised in gilt to depict river and hill landscape to the upper body attributed to Wang Minming, the lower half inscribed in clerical script with Imperial poems and signed Zhang Tingyu, all fitted on a gilt-bronze stand with three short stubs. Qing Dynasty period.

"端石作硯自古尋常，以石為筒在今罕見。此石質潤色青、藏筆更宜。筆筒直壁，平口，整體佈局可一分為二，筆筒上半部為陰刻山水樹木。山林深處隱約可見房屋幾間，見水中行走小船兩隻，筆筒下半部為張廷玉等人書款，筆筒所陰刻之處皆以描金裝飾。使文雅之器又增添富麗堂皇之感。在清代安徽桐城張氏家族中，張英、張廷玉、張若靄，祖孫三代，侍值內廷，頗受康、雍、乾三帝的青睞，可謂""合家頂戴""，滿門朱紫。尤其張廷玉，""登朝垂五十年，長詞林者二十七年，主撰席者二十四年，凡軍國大事，奉旨商度""。張廷玉清康熙時任刑部左侍郎，雍正帝時曾任禮部尚書、戶部尚書、吏部尚書、保和殿大學士(內閣首輔)、首席軍機大臣等職。張廷玉死後謚號""文和""，配享太廟，是整個清朝唯一一個配享太廟的漢臣。"
