The vessel is raised on three cylindrical legs and cast overall with taotie masks in shallow relief interrupted by an angled spout opposite a D-shaped handle surmounted by an animal head on the shoulder. Its slightly waisted neck rises to a flared mouth completed with a chained domed cover cast with similar taotie mask pattern . The surface has a smooth green patina. Shang Dynasty or later.
