The lower section of the vase is of rounded square form rising to a bulbous upper section, decorated in yellow glaze overall with phoenix and dragon in flight amidst auspicious clouds, the middle section painted with Taoist objects, the band below the rim with scrolled lotus spray, all reserved on an iron-red ground. The base with six character WANLI mark. Ming Dynasty period.

瓶呈葫蘆式，上圓下方，直口、束腰、方形圈足，通體飾五爪龍紋及鳳紋，紅黃相配，「黃」為帝王用色，「紅」則表意幸運，兩種色彩相輔相成，顏色比對分明，紋飾寓意祥瑞，類似紋飾可比較大阪市立東洋陶瓷美術館所藏明黃地紅彩龍紋罐。
