Working like a gyroscope, each of the three rings carved from a circular cross-section of jade and carved to both sides in delicate raised relief. The outer ring depicting four mountains rising from waves, joined to the middle ring decorated with two of the four pairs of opposing dragon heads with bodies rendered in C-scrolls, the innermost ring with depictions of the seven stars of the Big Dipper and the moon. Qing Dynasty Qianlong period.
