The vessel raised on three columnar supports cast in intaglio, the body crisply cast with a broad taotie mask band in relief divided by six vertical notched flanges, all reserved on a dense leiwen ground, the lipped rim set with two upright loop handles with sides incised with stylized mythical beast pattern, the interior below the rim cast with pictogram and characters inscription, accompanied with a Japanese wood box. Late Shang Dynasty period.
