The upright sides curving into three mammiform lobes supported on slender columnar legs, each lobe centered with a taotie on a dense leiwen ground with raised eye-bosses and barbed mouths, all below a band of alternating cicada motifs and raised 'fire-whorl' medallions, the interior cast with one pictogram, all below a warm yellowish-green patina with some malachite encrustation. Shang Dynasty period.
