The rosewood table screen is of rectangular form, exquisitely and skillfully modelled with a carved white jade figure of Guanyin standing on a wood stand fitted to the rectangular screen, the figure wearing a layered robe draped over softly rounded shoulders and opening at the chest, the figure grasping the robe in the right hand and with the left hand gracefully holding a scroll, the face with a benevolent and peaceful expression and flanked by pendulous earlobes, the hair drawn up into an elaborate chignon and secured with a crown and ruyi-headed pin, the stone of translucent white tone. Qing Dynasty period.
