The six-lobed dish is thinly potted with an angular profile and is incised with feathery strokes on the slightly concave centre with a peony blossom and around the wide everted borders with three peony sprigs, the petals and leaves lightly combed for texture, the underside incised with six lines corresponding to the petals of the mallow form, supported on a short straight foot, the rim unglazed. Northern Song Dynasty period.
