Of cylindrical form and raised on three short bracket feet, finely carved and reticulated around the exterior with a continuous garden landscape enclosing scenes such as an elderly scholar scrolling on a scroll accompanied by a young boy and a lady beneath a tall pine tree surrounded by craggy rockworks, a lady gazing through an aperture from pavilion, a lady crossing a small arched bridge with water stream flowing underneath. The wood patinated to a rich reddish-brown tone. Qing Dynasty period.
