The iron teapot is cast with relief scene of an elderly figure looking up to the sky in a rocky mountain setting with pavilion and gnarled tress, the other side with buildings and trees with cranes in flight, in between with four character mark. The bronze handle inlaid with leafy flowering decoration in silver. The base with a nine character mark. Accompanied with Japanese wooden box. Meiji Period, 19th Century.
