Carved as a group, the vase is of rectangular sectioned, with two raised lotus pod forming the handles, the cover and rim detailed with incised leafy pattern and surmounted with flower branch as finial. The exterior is carved in high relief with Liu Hai holding a coin thread, with a toad by the side, on the other side it is carved with two birds standing upon the leafy lotus branch.
