Of flattened form, the vase carved from zitan wood, inset with nephrite jade, shoushan stone, mother of pearl, jade, and other semi-precious gems, depicting on one side a pond side scene with two geese and a dragonfly with lotus flowers, on reverse with cranes near a large pine tree, the lid and sides depicting additional flowers and trees. The rectangular bottom and lid rim carved with scrolling key-fret patterns, the sides with two lion mask handles and looped rings. The wood with fine natural grains and color. Republic period.
