Of compressed globular form, the body incised with calligraphy by Ke Zhai on one side, and an image of an elder collecting tea leaves on the other side. The teapot has a short and raising spout, an ear-shaped round handle, a perfect fit insertion style lid, and a compressed bead shaped finial on top, the teapot of dark brown color. Ke Zhai was the mark used by a renowned calligrapher and collector Wu Dachen during Qing Dynasty Guangxu period (1895-1901), and the teapot was likely made by famous pottery maker Yu Guoliang of the same period.
