Of pear form with delicate and standardized proportions, the teapot’s spout tip, rim, and finial all covered with bronze, the teapot completely balanced as it was designed to be used in Gongfu tea ceremony. Two character mark "Shui Ping" beneath the lid, two character "Meng Cheng" signature along with colophon on the bottom, and two character "Chang Ji" mark beneath the handle. Chang Ji was a store from late Qing Dynasty period, well known for their quality Yixing teapots.
此壺鼓腹,三彎流,圈把,壓蓋,鈕為珠狀,把下有昌記正楷浮印,蓋內有水準兩凹字印記,出水口,蓋沿,及珠狀鈕,均鑲有原配之包銅。昌記為晚清之堂號所製出之壺,多為精品。此水準壺式更是功夫茶之必備之器。
