The rectangular lacquer plaque is inlaid with jade-stone, agate, ivory, and jasper, composing an elephant in trees and rock-works setting on one screen, and two horses near a Dragon pillar and flowers on the other screen, each with five different Chinese characters as title. The plaques were each inset into an en-suite hardwood stand, supported by hoof feet, the center and skirt pierce carved with intertwining peaches, leaves, and branches, with a porcelain round plaque in the middle, one depicting flowers and other depicting eight horses.
