Well carved and well hollowed, the washer depicts upcurved lotus leaf, a stem of bud across the top, and a dragonfly on the side, the stone of smooth and creamy color with hint of green and occasional russet. 18th century. A similar brush washer with almost identical dimension (Length 15 cm) is illustrated in Jade: Ch'ing Dynasty Treasures from the National Museum of History, Taiwan, Taiwan, 1997, pp. 111, no. 49.
