This figural group of Eight Immortals is delicately carved out of a natural branch of coral. The carvings were skillful and naturalistic, the postures and expressions of each Immortal are different and each carries a signatory religious symbol. The rest of the coral branch was carved with a pine tree and two cranes flying above. Republic period.
