The pear-shaped body with a waisted neck raised from a spreading foot, finely inlaid around the exterior in gold and silver with confronting archaistic stylized mythical beasts, the neck with a band of leaf motif, fitted with cover. Both neck and cover flanked by a pair of loop handles suspending a long loose chain hanging on the hardwood frame with stand. Song Dynasty period.

此件青銅壺為圓體寬長頸鼓腹提梁式，蓋、頸平面正圓，腹、足轉為扁圓。頸部闊而長，垂鼓腹，下連外撇的高圈足。頸部、蓋部對稱半環，用以連接彎曲過蓋的提梁。整體器物採用錯金銀裝飾，裝飾性極強。繁複華美的錯金銀工藝與神秘古遠的青銅器完美地結合在一起。商周青銅禮器幾乎沒有錯金銀的器物。而宋代的諸多仿古器都是以商周器物為範本，再加之以錯金銀工藝，展現出華麗的宮廷氣象。
