The attractive white jade stone with russet veins smoothly polished and worked in the form of a recumbent deer with legs tucked tightly underneath the body, its head turned sharply backwards looking towards its tail, the mane detailed with delicately incised lines, the back surmounted with a circular stopper. Mid Qing Dynasty period.

此件天鹿水丞整塊取和闐白玉雕成，雕琢細膩自然。鹿作跪臥狀，做迴首狀，溫馴可人。鹿身光素，曲線優美。局部以細短陰線飾鹿身和鬢鬚，刀工精緻。內部掏空作水丞，構思巧妙。鹿取其諧音，有“祿”的含義，“天鹿者，能壽之獸，五色光輝，王者孝道則至。”此件靈鹿寓祝仕途“福祿雙全”，為乾隆時期文房精品。可比較香港蘇富比 2014年10月 拍品號3817 成交價625,000港幣。來源：洛杉磯教授藏家提供
