The carved guanyin is shown seated on back of buddhist lion with left ankle raised, left hand rested on raised knee, holding a string of beads, right hand rested on right lap holding the sacred vase. Wearing a voluminous robe incised with decorations on the hem, her face is calm and meditative, flanked by two pendulous earlobes, the head covered by veil. The paws of the lion rested on a lotus, its mane finely detailed with incised lines. Qing Dynasty period.
