SHI MEI: A YIXING “BAMBOO” TEAPOT    石楳 慕古圓竹壺

Of round bamboo sections form, the teapot features similarly sized and bamboo shaped spout, handle, and finial, the side incised with calligraphy poetry written by “Shi Mei”, with additional four character artist mark on the bottom.


通體圓竹,三彎流,竹節鈕,竹節執把。此壺包漿自然,古意盎然。
Shi Mei was a famous artist and calligrapher during Qing Dynasty Jiaqing and Daoguang period, and he was known for decorating ornaments such as Yixing zisha teapots.
石楳為嘉、道年間文人畫家,在傳器裝飾書畫上格調高雅,金石韻味濃厚。
