Each chair elaborately carved through layers of cinnabar lacquer in relief, the central back splat curved into a cylindrical scrolled crested rail, decorated with landscape scene roundel on one chair, a river side scene roundel on the other chair, the seat board carved at center of blossoming flowers and vines, each corner carved with different flowers and vines, the headrest, seat frame edges, armrests aprons, rectangular hoof-feet legs, and stretchers carved with similar flower motif over key-fret patterns, the backside of black lacquer.
