The panels hinged together in group of two, and the four sets can be hinged together on the sides. All panels separated into three sections, using semi-precious gems, such as jade, to depict different people and events, each also with a title or poem of the scene, all over patterned cinnabar lacquer, the back side with black lacquer and gilt Chinese verses.
