A LARGE CHINESE SILVER-INLAID BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER     清 嵌銀銅大香爐

This large dark brown censer was supported by three masked legs, with Ruyi and beast handles. It was inlaid with silver wire to form a figural scenes on the body and a band of precious objects around the waisted neck. The pierced cover inlaid with floral sprays below a seated buddhistic lion with right forepaw resting on a pierced ball, the base of the vessel inlaid in silver with a Chinese characters mark. The censer is completed with the original silver-inlaid bronze circular stand, which was pierced in the center with a Shou character, and raised on three Ruyi supports. Qing Dynasty period.
